Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has urged the President-elect Muhammadu Buhari to realize that Nigerians are expecting a lot from him when he eventually takes over power May 29. Mr. Obasanjo who is currently in Sudan as an AU observer in the country’s presidential election, noted that Nigerians' primary expection was for him to heal the wounds of electioneering campaigns.
He also said the just concluded phase is Phase 1 as Phase 2 would be how the new government establishes itself. Obasanjo urged Buhari to improve on various sectors of the nation's economy and most importantly rid the country of corruption . Mr. Obasanjo it will be recalled was instrumental to the emergence of Goodluck Jonathan as president, but fell out with Mr. Jonathan. He claimed that Mr. Jonathan promised to remain in power for a single term before handing over to someone from northern Nigeria.
