Chairman of House of Representatives’ Committee on Diaspora Affairs, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa has said that there was the need for Nigeria to reciprocate South Africans’ treatment on Nigerians. She said although we have (IBTC) here, the country have refused to allow Zenith Bank and Union Bank to set up business over there, Dabiri-Erewa said no Nigerian can be allowed to start opening business in South Africa as DSTV and Shoprite is doing here, such person will be frustrated. According to her, because Nigeria has not taken a strong action, it will continue to happen.
Meanwhile, Nigerians who are interested in returning to their country have been told to contact the Nigerian High Commission in South Africa, as the country will begin evacuation of its citizens from South Africa this week over xenophobic attacks on immigrants from other African countries.
