MTN Nigeria on Monday warned that it might be forced to close business and 99 per cent of its over 6,000 workforce in the country, who are Nigerians would lose their jobs, if it’s facilities are attacked. The telecommunication giant also said, the calls for the boycott of its services were not justified as such an action could lead to loss of livelihood for another 500,000 Nigerians.
Mr. Wale Goodluck, the Corporate Service Executive, MTN Nigeria stated this in Lagos and added that only 12 expatriates are working for the company in Nigeria, compared to a workforce of 6,000 Nigerians. He noted that over $15bn has been spent by MTN on capital expenditure growing the telecommunications business in Nigeria.
