A total sum of 3.24bn is to paid as several allowance to President Jonathan, Vice President Namadi Sambo, lawmakers who are not returning to the National Assembly, ministers and presidential aides. While Jonathan and Sambo are entitled to 300% each of their annual basic Salary which amounts to N10, 544,115 and N9, 094,717.50 respectively, Senators not returning to the house will paid N6, 079,200 amounting to N462,019,200 for the 76 senators not returning to the Assembly. Each member of the house of Representatives not returning to the house, 290 of them will be paid N5, 955,637.50 totalling N1, 727,134,875.

Each of the 31 senior ministers is entitled to N6, 079,200 while the 11 ministers of state will receive N5, 872,740 each all totalling N253, 967,212.5. About 133 aides to the President comprising special advisers, senior special assistants and special assistants will get N5, 828,625 each amounting to N775, 207,125. The severance allowance is without prejudice to Jonathan and Sambo's other constitutional entitlements as a former President and Vice-President respectively.
