Court stops Niger lawmakers from impeaching Governor Aliyu

imageA Minna High Court has granted Governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger State on Wednesday an interim court injunction restraining the State's lawmakers from impeaching him.

A copy of the injuction made available to journalists on Thursday , May 7 restrained the lawmakers from impeaching the governor pending the determination and hearing of the motion on notice. The court has fixed May 27 , 2015 for hearing on the motion on notice.
