Early Life:
D'banj was born on June 9, 1980, in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. He is from the Yoruba ethnic group in Nigeria. D'banj's family later moved to Lagos, where he was raised. He had a passion for music from a young age and participated in church choirs and talent shows during his childhood.
Music Career:
D'banj's music journey began as a harmonica player in church and as a backup singer for other artists. He later joined a group called "JJC & 419 Squad," where he honed his skills as an entertainer. In 2004, he signed a record deal with Mo' Hits Records, founded by Don Jazzy and backed by the management of D'banj's early mentor, JJC.
