Choosing the right product
Some hair styling products can easily create a wet look when you are dealing with kinky curly wigs or other curly-style wigs. Styling gel, mousse, or cream are primary products to use for getting various wet looks. Search for a gel with enough deep-down grip to keep the curls locked in and will not overly dry out the hair. Leave-in conditioner is also suitable for making various wet looks. A leave-in conditioner will be useful in moisturizing the hair which can add shine and wet touch to the wig.
Detangle the curly wig to smooth
In order not to have the curly wig tangled, we’d better comb the curly wig smooth. We can use a wide-tooth comb from the root to the end of the hair to gently smooth the hair out, this wide-tooth comb can be very good for preventing sudden breakage of the curly wig. If you really encounter a knotted curly wig that can not be combed away with a comb, please use your fingers to smooth the curly wig out, remember never pull hard.
Apply styling products and style your wig
Once you’ve detangled your wig, apply hair gel, mousse, cream, or leave-in conditioner on your hair strands. You shouldn’t use too much hair product on your curly wig to avoid weighting down the curls. You can use your palm to check how it feels. Then, it’s time to style your curly wig to your preferences. You can leave the hair hanging, style it into an updo, or tie it in a ponytail. It’s better to spritz some hair spray at the end of the process to keep your style intact and add some shine to your wig. If your curly wigs are lace wigs, like
wear and go glueless wigs,
360 glueless wigs, or
skin lace wigs, you shouldn’t apply the leave-in conditioner on the hair knots to avoid hair shedding.
