Today I'm going to talk to you about the maintenance of
kinky curly wigs. To be honest, curly
human hair wigs are really beautiful and challenging, especially those made of real human hair. If they are not well cared for, they will easily dry out and tangle. I have also experienced some "wig crises" myself, but I have gradually figured out some experience, and now I can finally keep my curly wigs natural and fluffy.
1. Regular cleaning is the basis
First of all, cleaning the wig is a must. I usually wash it every two weeks, using a mild shampoo and avoiding using too irritating ingredients. Human hair wigs are different. If you wash them too frequently, they will dry out easily, so I think it is best to keep it every two weeks. After shampooing, I will add some deep conditioner to keep the wig moisturized so that the hair does not look dry.
2. Moisturize and avoid drying
The problem of drying curly wigs is actually quite common, especially those made of real human hair, which are more likely to absorb moisture. I usually use a moisturizing spray containing ingredients such as coconut oil and argan oil. I spray a little before wearing it every time. I feel that the wig can instantly restore its luster. If it feels particularly dry, I will also do a deep nourishing treatment and apply a thick layer of conditioner, like a "deep treatment" for my hair, which is super effective.
3. Comb gently
Speaking of combing, everyone may know that curly hair is easy to get tangled if you don't comb it carefully. I always use a wide-tooth comb to comb my wig, especially when it is wet, to avoid dry combing, so that it is not easy to break the hair. I will start from the ends of the hair and comb gently. Don't rush to pull the knotted parts apart. Be gentle to avoid damage to the wig.
4. Storage is also important
Every time I take off the kinky curly
360 glueless wig, I will put it on a special wig stand to avoid crushing it. Curly wigs are easy to deform or collapse if they are left casually. I usually let the wig dry naturally to maintain its fluffy feeling and curl. Don't dry it too hard to keep it in a natural curved state.
5. Be careful with hot tools
Although human hair can be styled with hot tools, I recommend not using high temperatures too often, after all, the curvature of the curl is its soul. If I want to fine-tune it, I will control the temperature to medium or low and use it to gently adjust the curl, but generally speaking, I still prefer to keep the natural curl of the wig.
6. Regular trimming
Trimming is a trick that keeps my wig vivid. I trim the split ends of the wig every once in a while to keep the ends smooth. This not only removes dry parts, but also makes the whole curl look more layered.
