How To Take Care Of Curly Hair? A Method I Recommend After Trying It Myself

jadenhairjadenhair Posts: 15
As a girl with naturally curly hair, I have been "fighting wits and courage" with the problem of hair care. Curly hair looks beautiful, but to be honest, it is not that easy to keep them smooth, healthy and elastic. After countless failures and attempts, I finally found a simple and effective method, which is "deep moisturizing + correct combing". Today, I will share this method with you based on my experience, hoping to help you who are also troubled by curly hair care!

My experience of "stepping on the pit" of curly hair care
In the past, I always thought that washing hair was just rubbing it with shampoo, rinsing it clean and applying some conditioner casually. But the result is that my hair is dry like grass and the curls are messy and shapeless. Especially every time I comb my hair, I lose a lot of hair, which makes me feel very distressed. Later I found that curly hair care must not be sloppy, it requires special love and patience.

Deep moisturizing is the key
Curly hair is naturally more prone to drying than straight hair because its shape makes it more difficult for natural scalp oil to be evenly distributed to the ends of the hair. So I now do a deep moisturizing treatment at least once a week. How do I do it? It's simple:

Use a hair mask after shampooing
Choose a nourishing hair mask for curly hair (I currently use one with argan oil) and apply it evenly from the midsection to the ends of your hair, then wrap your hair in a hot towel and let it absorb for about 15 minutes. You can do this while watching TV, which is definitely a great time to relax.

Rinse with cold water
Yes, cold water! Although it's a bit cold, a cold water rinse can lock in moisture in your hair and make it smoother. I used to use hot water, but after changing this little habit, my hair really felt much smoother.

Choose the right tools and time to comb your hair
Speaking of combing your hair, there is also a big pitfall! It's best to avoid dry combing your curly hair with a regular comb because it will pull your hair and cause it to break. I now only use a wide-tooth comb to gently comb my hair when it is wet and applied with hair care products.

This method also works for human hair wigs with curly textures, such as kinky curly wigs, afro curly wigs, and water wave wigs. I hope my experience and methods can help you! If you also have some tips for caring for curly hair, please share them and let’s become the “Curly Queen” together!
