As a wig lover, I have been looking for the right one among different types of wigs. From the earliest traditional wigs, to later trying lace wigs and recently falling in love with half wigs, my wig journey can be said to be colorful. Today, I want to share with you my experience of using a half wig and a lace closure wig and how to choose the right wig for you according to your needs.
What are Half Wig and Lace Closure Wig?
Simply put, a half wig is a wig that covers part of the head and usually needs to be matched with your own hair to create a natural effect. You can show your hairline, and the front half can be styled at will, which is very suitable for sisters who like variety and want to keep a natural look.
Lace closure wig has a lace area (usually
4x4 closure wig or
5x5 closure wig) on the top or front of the wig to make the hairline look more natural. It does not need to show your own hair, and you can have a complete hairstyle directly when you put it on, which is especially suitable for lazy girls who want to go out quickly.
My Half Wig Experience
I first tried the half wig because I wanted to keep a more natural effect. My hair is relatively healthy at the hairline, so showing my own hair allows the wig and real hair to blend seamlessly, and it doesn't look like a wig at all.
For example, once the company held a retro party, I wore a curly half wig, showing my hairline, and used a curling iron to slightly style the front hair, which made me look very energetic. Everyone praised my hairstyle and no one could tell it was a wig!
But there are some small challenges with the half wig, such as requiring your own hair to be similar in color to the wig, or to prep your hair in advance. For those sisters with less hair or poor hair quality, it may be a little troublesome.
My Lace Closure Wig Experience
The lace closure wig is one of the most frequently used wigs in my daily life. Its biggest advantage is convenience! Especially for office workers like me who are pressed for time, it is really worry-free to put it on and go out.
One time I overslept in the morning and had only 15 minutes before a meeting. I picked up a lace closure wig and put it on directly after adjusting the fixing strap. The hair parting looked very natural, and there was no need to worry about it being exposed. This carefree feeling was really the biggest surprise that the lace closure wig brought me.
However, the lace area of the lace closure wig is relatively small. Although the hair parting is very natural, the hair flexibility may not be as good as a full lace wig. And it requires regular care of the lace part to prevent the lace from yellowing or damage.
