The town of Offa in Kwara State is agog right now as it receives its son, President John Dramani Mahama of Ghana. He was received warmly his late stepmother’s Balogun Compound (Ile Balogun) in Offa, Kwara State, Nigeria. He visited the burial ground of his stepmother and called the visit a return to his family. President Mahama was the Guest Lecturer at the University of Ilorin Convocation Lecture in Ilorin on Friday. The town of Offa is agog as sons and daughter of that beautiful town turned out to receive their son, who lived in Offa for a while growing up. He was honoured with a traditional title, the Aare Atoolase of Offa. He visited the compounds where he grew up and also paid a royal homage to the Olofa of Offa. Below are photos from the event:
