Abia Tribunal upholds Ikpeazu’s election victory
The Abia State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has affirmed the victory of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in the April 11 elections.
The judgment was delivered by the tribunal Tuesday, in Umuahia, the state capital.
Ikpeazu’s victory was challenged by his All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) opponent, Alex Otti whose petition was dismissed for lacking merit.
The Abia governor contested the elections on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and was sworn in on May 29.
