PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari yesterday hosted his predecessor, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, in the Presidential Villa Abuja.
The meeting between the two leaders took place behind closed doors at the new banquet hall, though details of their discussions were not immediately known.
Clad in his traditional Niger Delta dress, with bowler hat to match, the former President’s visit came barely days after he returned from Tanzania where he led the Commonwealth Observation Group to monitor the presidential elections in that country.
Jonathan, who was accompanied by his Special Assistant on Domestic Affairs, Dr. Dudaffah, arrived at exactly 2.00 p.m. chauffeur-driven in a Range Rover with a Prado Jeep back up. And by exactly 10 minutes later, at 2.10 p.m., he emerged from the meeting with Buhari, with the latter accompanying him to his waiting van.
None of the two leaders spoke to the media before Jonathan’s car zoomed off.
