Airline, the airline of Nigeria, has concluded arrangement to begin direct regular flights to London, United Kingdom, after it has successfully secured approvals from UK Civil Aviation Authority (UKCAA), NCAA, and the two countries’ Foreign Affairs Ministries to enter the route.
The airline has also secured approvals of the authorities to have slots at Gatwick Southern Airport Terminal which has good train services (Gatwick Express), Limousine Service for Business Class and bus connections to Victoria Station, as well as various points in Central, South and East London.
With this entry, Med-view is now the second Nigerian Flag Carrier after Arik Air to venture into this route hitherto dominated by British Airways.
Disclosing this to newsmen on Tuesday in Lagos, the MD/CEO of Med-view, Alhaji Muneer Bankole, said Lagos-London route has remained one of the busiest routes in the world and the most expensive.
It is against this backdrop, Bankole stated, that Med-view is entering the route as a Nigerian flag carrier to supply the missing link which is its capacity to charge reasonable fares, provide good customer care and excellent in-flight entertainment.
He also announced that the inaugural flight is scheduled for Friday, November 20, 2015, adding that after the inaugural flight, the airline will now begin four weekly flights on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
He gave further details: “Our introductory fares for Economy Class is as low as N149,000. Our passengers on economy will enjoy a 32kg 2-piece baggage allowance, while those on Business Class are entitled to a 3-piece baggage allowance of 32kg each”.
