Nigerian Army Establishes A Media Centre In Maiduguiri

The Nigerian Army has set up a media centre in Lafiyo Dole in Maiduguiri, the Borno State capital. This is part of its drive to keep the pubic properly informed of the counter-insurgency operation in the northeast. According to a statement released by Colonel Tukur Gusau, the Media Coordinator Operation Lafiya Dole, the aim is to provide real time and accurate information and to provide avenue for a better interaction with the media.







The Theatre Commander also extol on the role of the media in the fight against terrorism and insurgency. He described the media as key partner in the ongoing efforts of ending Terrorism in Nigeria. Gen Abubakar thanked all the media organizations for educating and informing the populace about the happenings in the Theater of operation.
