Following the victory of the Golden Eaglets in the semifinal match against Mexico, the lawmaker representing Ojo Federal Constituency has charged the Golden Eaglets not to be carried away by their form and victory in recent matches.
Obasa, while praising them for their resilience which aided in their defeat of the mexicans despite their poor showing in the first twenty minutes of the game.
In a statement released on Friday, the lawmaker however urged the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation headed by Amaju Pinnick in doing the necessary to spur them on to victory.
“Since the commencement of the competition in 1985, Nigeria has won the tournament in four different countries in Asia. This is an opportunity for them to set a new record by being the first Nigerian U-17 team to win a trophy outside Asia”
“The Nigeria Football Federation and the technical crew led by Emmanuel Amuneke should be aware that Nigerians won’t accept anything lesser than Gold”
The Golden Eaglets will line up against their Malian counterparts for the final of the 16th edition on Sunday.
