
Determined to fulfill his campaign promises to the people, governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, of Enugu State will today flag-off the construction of the eight roads recently awarded by his administration.
A statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Louis Amoke, said a schedule from the office of the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Patrick Ikpenwa, showed that the governor would today flag-off the 9th Mile By-Pass road, Ameke Ngwo- Nsude-9th Mile By-Pass road and Abakpa-Nike Road and Nike Lake Road.
It also stated that the governor would on November 12,flag off the Opi-Nsukka Dual Carriage Road; Obechara Road Junction-Umuakashi- Mechanic Village-Ikenga Hotels Junction Road; Post Office Roundabout-Odenigbo Roundabout-Ogurugu Road-Ikenga Hotels Junction Road; Enugu Road (Nsukka) Junction-Umezedi-Nru Junction –University Gate Road and Ohum Orba Junction – Imilike Ani- Ezimo Uno-Ezimo Agu-Imilike Ogbodu Aba- Obollo Affor (Udenu Ring Road).
The statement noted that the exercise would mark the commencement of a new chapter of aggressive road development in Enugu State in line with the governor’s new ethos of leadership geared towards the well-being of the people.
According to the statement the event coming at the time the nation’s economy was in bad shape, was a clear indication of the unprecedented commitment of the governor to do all he could within his powers to provide.
