The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state has expressed its readiness to take over the reins of government from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government of Dr Olusegun Mimiko.
The state chairman of the party, Isaac Kekemeke while declaring open a one-day sensitization workshop on behalf of the National Vice-Chairman (Southwest) of the party, Chief Pius Akinyelure organized by the APC Women for Change declared that the people of the state are desirous of change, adding that “only the APC has the needed change Ondo people want.”
Kekemeke who hinted that the APC in the state has set machinery in motion ahead of the next year’s Governorship poll, said the party has not anointed any candidate as its flag bearer for the governorship election.
Chairman of the women group, Mrs Jumoke Ajasin Anifowose called on women to show interest in politics, even as she urged them to vie for political offices like their male counterparts.
Anifowose charged the women drawn from all the 18 local councils of the state to be more committed to the party and stressed the need for them to support President Muhammadu Buhari for the overall development of the state.
Meanwhile, the state chapter of the party has declared that a transparent primary election will be conducted for all governorship aspirants ahead of the next year’s governorship election.
