cultist kill nigeria

THERE was pandemonium at Okwe quarters in Asaba, Delta State on Tuesday, following the killing of a 20-year old secondary school leaver identified as Isichei Paul. He was allegedly murdered by suspected cultists who had been on the rampage in the area.

It was gathered that Isichei was killed during a misunderstanding among the suspected cultists. The argument reportedly degenerated and one of the suspected cultists allegedly shot Paul at a close range.

It was learnt that during the face-off, the victim was invited through a telephone call and was held hostage by the suspected cultists.

Sources said the suspects allegedly descended on the victim and inflicted deep cuts on him before shooting and killing him.

Confirming the incident, the State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Charles Muka, said, “Residents, who were interviewed, said they heard sound of gunshot, which made them scamper to safety.

“The police is however on top of the situation and we shall uncover the group of the suspects and bring them to book.”

Meanwhile, residents of Omarekewe Street, off London Opi in Warri, are still in shock over the killing of a 28-year-old Amos Nsikak, an assistant truck driver attached to NNPC petrol station along Airport Road in Warri.

It was gathered that the victim fell to the bullet of policemen residing on the same street few minutes before midnight last Sunday.

A roommate of the victim, one David Okon, said, “We were preparing to sleep when we heard the shots that eventually killed my friend who had gone to get clothes from the line downstairs.

“We were watching television in the room and the victim, after taking a bath, decided to

go downstairs and collect his clothes hanging on the line all day so that he could have a fresh cloth to wear the following morning when we heard gunshots and rushed to the scene only to discover it was Amos lying dead.”

But the State Police Commissioner, Alkali Baba Usman, claimed he had no knowledge of the report, assuring that he would investigate the death of the victim.
