I’m mature, ready to govern Bayelsa again – Sylva

Timipre-Sylva

Former Bayelsa Governor and candidate for the All Progressives Congress, Chief Timipre Sylva, on Tuesday said he is now more mature and ready to govern the state again.

He said the gory experience of his exit from the Government House in 2012 and his travails in the hands of the Peoples Democratic Party-led political schemers had toughened him and made him a better man to govern the state.

Sylva said his political experience outside the Bayelsa Government House could be likened to a person in the wilderness in which various travails were thrown on his path, yet he survived them.

He said his political survival was made possible because God had destined him to lead the people of the state out of the era of poverty under the PDP and into prosperity and infrastructural development under the APC.

Sylva made this known on Tuesday during separate interactive sessions with aggrieved pensioners in the state and the King of Ogbogoro community in Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state, His Royal Highness Godwin Igodo.

The APC standard bearer said, “Those experiences have made me more mature and ready to deliver to the people of the state good governance and development.

“In 2012, some persons threw me into the wilderness. These people sent snakes after me, I killed the snakes. They sent sharks after me, I swallowed them up. I am mature and ready to govern Bayelsa State. I am the Ark of Noah. You all need to come inside as we are about to sweep away the PDP from Bayelsa.”

At the palace of King Godwin Igodo, Sylva urged the traditional rulers in the state to support the APC and his candidature for more prosperous years in the state.

“Some people say that traditional rulers should not be partisan. But would you not be partisan if your son is contesting an election? I am your son and I am contesting,” he stated.
