SCORES of traders displaced at Erekesan market demolished by the Ekiti State government lamented as they were stranded in the new locations without shops and space to display their wares.
When journalists visited the new locations at Awedele and Agric Olope markets, where the traders were relocated, some of them lamented that they were yet to be allocated spaces where they could pack their products and display their wares.
At Agric. Olope Market, built by the administration of Dr Kayode Fayemi’s government, the traders also complained about lack of spaces, security, good road networks, pleading with the government to attend to all their needs to palliate their sufferings.
The Commissioner for Information, Mr Lanre Ogunsuyi, however, said the discomfort being encountered at the new locations by the resettled traders are normal, saying changes naturally has its own inconvenience, urging the traders to bear with the government.
