SPEAKER of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has promised Nigerians that within the next five months all the 122 bills and 200 laws reviewed by the House committee on law reforms will be passed by the end of the first quarter of next year.

The speaker made this disclosure when he received the interim report of the committee from the Director General of the National Institute for Legislative Studies, NILS, Dr. Ladi Hamalai in Abuja.

Dogara expressed satisfaction in Dr Hamalai’s competence and the committee members’ dedication and commitment which produced a professional touch to the enormous work presented.

Dr Hamalai, while submitting the report said it is an outcome of thorough research, commitment and dedication which will go a long way in assisting the House of Representatives in achieving its Legislative Agenda.

The DG explained that the committee was able to review over 200 pieces of Acts in the Laws of the Federation and produced 122 draft Bills for the consideration of the House of Representatives.
