Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has reassured that his administration will complete every project of value abandoned by his predecessor, adding that his government will not encourage waste.
The governor who spoke, yesterday, when he played host to the National Executive Council of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA led by its President, Mr Augustine Aleghe, SAN, said it will amount to waste of public funds if projects abandoned by his predecessor were allowed to remain in such state.
The governor said he had granted the judiciary financial autonomy to run its affairs, promising to always support the NBA.
He said that his administration will brand one of the offices of the NBA in Abuja with the name Rivers State Government.
“Frankly speaking, I want to say that as a member, I will do everything to support the NBA. I want to clearly state that without the NBA, most Nigerians will be oppressed and have their rights trampled upon. The hope of the common man rests on the NBA,” he said.
