Former President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Justice Eze Ozobu has denied knowing founder of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Justice Ozobu, who was the chief judge of Enugu State, yesterday, in Onitsha, denied knowing or ever seeing Kanu, the alleged director of Radio Biafra based in London.
“I do not know anybody called Nnamdi Kanu. You said that his name is what? How does he look like? I have never asked anybody to use violence or incitement to achieve any means, “ he said.
Ozobu was reacting to an allegation by IPOB members that he was their sponsor. He warned the public that he would not hesitate to take legal action against anybody who associates hate speeches with him.
“I have never asked anybody to use violence or incitement to achieve any means. For two years now, I have not had audience with anybody over any matter political including IPOB, Radio Biafra or any other group; neither do I listen to Radio Biafra.
Also reacting, Director General of Igbo Mandate Congress (IMC), Rev Obinna Akukwe, condemned hate speeches associated with Radio Biafra.
In a related development, police arraigned eight persons, including a woman, before a Chief Magistrate’s Court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, for alleged involvement in Tuesday’s protest march by supporters of Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB).
