The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, Anambra state chapter yesterday tasked the minister of labour and employment, Senator Chris Ngige to ensure that the federal ministry he has been appointed to take charge would be beneficial to Nigerians irrespective of ethnic or religious leanings.
This was contained in a two-page communique endorsed by the chairman and secretary of the group, Chief Uche Ezeliora and Chief Edwin Agbadiuno respectively and made available to the Vanguard.
The group challenged the former governor of Anambra state to re-enact the good works he did in Anambra state while he was governor between 2003 and 2006, a legacy he left in the state that has not been surpassed by his successors at the federal level.
“Indeed, Dr. Chris Ngige as governor and senator did well and has continued to do well to the delight of Ndi Anambra and Nigerians in general.
“We are pleased with his selfless service to mankind, passion and vision and finally urge him to keep the flag flying now he is a minister of the federal republic in- charge of labour and employment.”
