AFN board member kidnapped in Port Harcourt
A board member of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN, Ken Anugweje, has been kidnapped in Port Harcourt, PREMIUM TIMES has been told.
Olukayode Thomas, a board member of the AFN and Head of Media, confirmed the development even as he solicited help from every quarters to facilitate the prompt release of Mr. Anugweje, who is also a professor of medicine.
“Prof. Ken Anugweje, a professor of sports medicine and member of AFN board has been kidnapped earlier today in Port Harcourt. The AFN appeal to Nigerians with information to assist security agents to rescue him,” Mr Thomas stated
Only on Monday, the 72-year old mother of the Head Coach of the Nigeria U-23 team, Samson Siasia, was kidnapped in Bayelsa State.
The Nigeria Football Federation has also made passionate appeal for the release of Mr. Siasia’s aged mother.
