Former FIFA president Joao Havelange, who spent more than two decades in charge of world football, was discharged from a Rio hospital on Saturday after being treated for respiratory problems.
Hospital Samaritano said 99-year-old Havelange was released at noon. It did not say when he was first admitted nor give any other details.
Havelange headed FIFA for 24 years and was also on the International Olympic Committee for half a century. But he resigned as honorary FIFA president in 2013 under a cloud of corruption allegations.
