Police say a man angry with his hotel bill drove his truck through the front entrance of an Alva hotel.
According to the Alva Police Department, at approximately 3:53 p.m. Dec. 10 an officer was dispatched to the Comfort Inn & Suites, 1278 E. Oklahoma Blvd., to speak with a man who was angry about his hotel bill.
As the officer arrived on scene, he observed 62-year-old John Parsley in his pickup parked underneath the hotel awning. As the officer pulled in Parsley approached his patrol vehicle. When asked what was going on, Parsley told the officer he had asked the manager of the hotel for a refund on two transactions on his card that the hotel had told him they declined.
The officer then advised Parsley that this was a civil matter. Parsley then became angry and got in his vehicle. As Parsley was getting in the vehicle the officer told him he would go inside and talk to the manager to see what he could do to help resolve the issue. The officer reported that Parsley appeared to ignore his statement and continued to get in his vehicle. The officer then approached the vehicle and Parsley rolled down his window before placing his vehicle into drive and accelerating into the hotel's front entrance.
Surveillance video from inside the hotel show Parsley's vehicle ram through the front entrance and nearly miss two clerks at the front desk. The vehicle then becomes stuck. Parsley can be seen exiting his vehicle and walking towards the officer, who takes him into custody.
