PDP TRUSTEES ENDORSE PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN FOR 2015
On Wednesday, 17 September, 2014, the Board of Trustees of The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan for the 2015 Presidential Election.
This decision was announced after a three hour meeting by the forums chairman and Governor of Akwa Ibom, Godswill Akpabio, at the Akwa Ibom State Government Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja.
According to Prof Jerry Gana, BOT’s decision to adopt the President as the sole candidate for the party was as a result of his performance in office.
The resolution was carried out by 19 governors and deputies who were in attendance at the forums meeting.
The forum urged all PDP faithful across the country to support the ‘vision and gesture’ which they believed will enable the president to become the sole presidential candidate.
President Goodluck Jonathan’s presidential journey started in 2011, after late President Musa Yar’Adua passed on. He went on further to contest in the 2011 election and emerged the winner.
Although he has not officially announced his intention to run for second tenure, a lot of Nigerians are showing support for the amiable president to take the mantle and lead us again for the second time.
