Reports filtering in from Abuja, Nigeria’s federal capital have it that some judges of the Supreme Court have been attacked by officers of the Department of State Security (DSS).
According to Sahara Reporters sources, the judges affected are Nnamdi Dimgba and Adebiyi Ademola, whose houses were surrounded on Friday night.
The 32 and 34 Samuel Ogbemudia Crescent residences of the judges in the Apo Legislative Quarters of Abuja were reportedly broken into with the use of sledge hammers while the sibling of Dimgba was said to have been beaten up by the officers.
A source revealed that the DSS is ‘dealing’ with the judges because they are unhappy with some rulings as well as Dimgba’s criticism of the security outfit.
Governor Nyesome Wike has also reportedly stopped an alleged attempt by men of the DSS and the police to abduct a Judge at his number 35/84 B residence, Forces Avenue, Port Harcourt.
NAIJ.com checks revealed that the failed alleged abduction was led by Mr Tosin Ajayi, Rivers state director of the DSS and Rivers state Police Commissioner, Mr Francis Odesanya.
According sources at the scene, the security operatives blocked the entrance of the residence of the Federal High Court judge at about 1am on Saturday morning, claiming that they were acting on orders from above.
