A social media war has ensued between supporters of Goodluck Jonathan and and those of President Buhari following calls by Senator Femi Okurounmu for the president to resign.
Okurounmu says Buhari government is trailing when compared to that of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
Okurounmu who represented Ogun central senatorial district between 1999 and 2003, served as a commissioner in Ogun state during the second republic administration of the first executive governor, Chief Olabisi Onabanjo.
In a recent interview with Vanguard, Okunrounmu called on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign over his poor handling of affairs.
He, among others, accused the national leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, of misleading some Yoruba leaders into political slavery.
Okurounmu then sparked a social media war when he said the Buhari government is trailing when compared to that of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
However, some of Buhari’s supporters reacting to Okurounmu’s comparison of the present administration with that of Jonathan’s described such comparison as a misnomer.
The supporters of the APC administration rained curses on Okurounmu for his disparaging remarks on the president and accused him of seeking for a political appointment.
But some on the other side of the divide supported the claims by the senator that Jonathan regime was better than the APC administration, adding that the state of the economy was enough evidence to support the senator’s claims.
