Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Femi Adesina, has reacted to allegations in some quarters that his principal was shielding certain individuals.
Some Nigerians and groups had accused appointees of the President and chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC, of corruption.
Adesina, however, explained that no major personality in the present government or ruling part had been arrested because none had been indicted.
Adesina spoke when he appeared on The Podium programme on Sweet FM, a radio station based in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The renowned writer insisted that Buhari’s anti-corruption fight was not selective.
“The onus lies on he who alleges to also prove,” the presidential aide side.
“The fact that any Peoples Democratic Party member crosses to APC does not provide automatic shield.
“Whoever is indicted will be prosecuted”, he added.
Meanwhile, three senior officials of the Supreme Court of Nigeria –Chief Registrar, Ahmed Gambo Saleh; Director of Finance, Muhammed Abdulrahman Sharif and Chief Accountant, Rilwanu Lawal – are facing a nine-count criminal charge, including diversion of N2.2 billion and receiving gratifications.
The charges were contained in a court document filed yesterday by Principal State Counsel, Hajara H. Yusuf on behalf of the Attorney General of the Federation at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, with case No. CR/13/16.
