Obaseki takes over from former governor, Adams Oshiomhole who spent two terms in office.
New Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki was sworn in on Saturday, November 12, and he seems to have already swung into action.
Obaseki takes over from former governor, Adams Oshiomhole who spent two terms in office.
Below are three signs that Obaseki plans to be a serious governor:
1. He resumed for his first day of office at about 7:45am.
2. He refused to meet any fans or visitors on the first day but instead held “tactical” meetings with his team and made his first appointments.
3. He has promised to reduce the cost of governance in the state.
Obaseki’s inauguration was attended by Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Alhaji Aliko Dangote; Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State; Gov. Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ondo, Rotimi Akeredolu.
