Woman locks up her step-children in a room to starve to death in Kano (photos)

3 children have been rescued, after they were reportedly locked up in a room by their step-mother to starve to death. It is alleged that this occurred after the children's dad, traveled out of the state for an event.

It was gathered that the children regained their freedom, after some neighbours who
got to know about the incident rescued them from their step-mother. The Kano State Police Command has already stepped into the case.

This is unacceptable and inhuman! I can't imagine what a black heart and hateful soul you can have as a mother to resort to such a gesture. I am glad that the police intervened, and I hope the culprit will pay for the wrongs done and atone for his punishment. Parents and especially mothers must understand that if they cannot take care of their children or simply do not want them, turn to authorized local foster agencies who can take children from their families and look for better housing with welcoming people.
