Special Olympics Nigeria has appointed Naomi Saliu Lawal as its new national director. This follows the departure of its former national director, Mrs Folashade Bolumole.
Naomi Saliu Lawal, brings on board a wealth of experience in fund-raising, relationship management, corporate structure management and a passion for children.
A statement from Special Olympics Nigeria says Naomi Saliu Lawal is joining the organization after a 12 year stint in the Nigerian and British financial sectors. She rose to become the Head, Client services for Guaranty Trust Bank United Kingdom before her new appointment. She is passionate about health and fitness, participates in some charity walks/runs and an ardent follower of several sports.
Special Olympics Nigeria is an affiliate of an unprecedented global movement, transforming lives together through the joy of sports everyday, and improving the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and, in turn, the lives of everyone they touch. It seeks to transform communities by inspiring people throughout the world to open their minds, accept and include people with intellectual disabilities and thereby celebrate the similarities common to all people.
