The federal government has expressed concerns about the surge in Covid-19 cases in the country which has increased from 4,641 on May 11 to 14,554.
Boss Mustapha, the PTF boss said the 663 cases recorded on Tuesday was the highest daily number of cases ever recorded since the first case of the virus was recorded in Nigeria.
He also said that from Thursday night, he would be having periodic meetings with some selected governors, these governors will be selected by the National Economic Council, and security chiefs. The sole purpose of these meetings will be on how they can further enforce the stated guidelines and curb the spread of the virus.
The minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire said that of the Covid-19 cases they have recorded about 39% are symptomatic while 61% are asymptomatic, that is they have no symptoms at all.
