Nigerian Senate Move to Make Education Free To Senior Secondary Schools.
The Nigerian senate recently presented a bill tagged: ‘Free Universal Education Act Amendment Bill’ seeking to extend the federal government’s free and compulsory education program from the Junior Secondary School 3 to the Senior Secondary School 3.The bill which was sponsored by the senator representing Imo West Senatorial district, Rochas Okorocha has passed the first reading on the floor of the Senate.
Nigerian Senate Move to Make Education Free To Senior Secondary Schools
According to senator Rochas, the bill would ensure that Nigerian children are able to access qualitative education up to senior secondary school level as against the Federal Government free education policy at the moment which only captures those from primary to junior secondary school levels.
He described the bill as a people-oriented bill and hopes that the bill would be given a fast hearing and subsequent assent by the executive.Visit
