Resident doctors at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, Delta Sate will today begin a three day warning strike.
President of the union at the Federal Medical Centre, Nwabunor Osifo, said they are not waiting for the three - week ultimatum to the Federal Government to expire.
He noted that the industrial action excludes doctors managing Covid -19 patients.
Mr Osifo called for implementation of the resolution by the Nigerian Governors Forum regarding the payment of hazard allowance or the next step would be an indefinite strike.
“It a warning strike and we expect the State Governor to do the needful or face an indefinite strike,” he said.
More then 1,027 doctors have been infected nationwide while eighteen deaths have been recorded.
