The world football governing body FIFA has approved the sum of $1 million to be given to the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, as a grant. This grant is meant “to protect and restart its football,”.
The NFF along with other member bodies will receive a portion of the FIFA $1.5 billion COVID-19 relief funds as announced on Wednesday.
FIFA has also provided a loan facility for its member bodies. They can now access up to $5 million interest-free loans towards football development.
That’s not all, member associations will receive an additional $500,000 to support Women’s football in their respective countries. But this will come in the body’s third phase of disbursement.
