Oyo state to reintroduce waste bins

The Oyo state government has made the announcement that it is set to reintroduce waste bins available for use by the general public.

The development was announced by the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Dr. Lateef Oyeleke on Thursday after a just concluded weekly environmental sanitation exercise in Ibadan, Oyo state.

The commissioner said this government’s reintroduction of waste bins is part of Governor Seyi Makinde’s efforts in ridding Oyo state of waste. He also added that the mistake previous Government’s made with the bins in the past was that the system was not properly coordinated.

He added that the bins would be placed in strategic residential and market places, “We will soon begin placing these waste bins at strategic locations where residents will be expected to dump their domestic waste.

“These bins will serve residential and commercial purposes and will attract a token so as to be able to sustain the system.
